Expression Engine - Web Developer
We are currently looking for an individual with impressive skills and proven experience, in Front-End and ExpressionEngine Development. Initially this position is for a freelance partnering or a short-term contract (3 to 6 months), with a view to this (very successful relationship) becoming a full time position for the right individual. Work will be carried out in our South Lakeland office although we will consider remote working (applicants would ideally be north west UK based (Lancashire, Cumbria or North West Yorkshire) as face-to-face meetings will be required).
What essentials are we looking for?
- A minimum of 2 years web agency experience
- Mouthwatering portfolio of live work
- Expertise in Expression Engine CMS configuration and modules
- An evident flair for XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, JQuery and Javascript
- Thorough working knowledge of e-commerce integration and payment systems (Sage, Streamline/WorldPay etc)
- Proficient in Photoshop for converting designs to top-notch XHTML and CSS
- Mac lover
- A smashing sense of humour.
and the ‘desirables’?
- A knowledge of email marketing solutions such as Campaign Monitor
- A love of popular web APIs (Google Maps etc)
- The ability to work with Google Analytics
- An good understanding of the very latest twists in the ‘dark art’ …SEO
- Knowledge of social media and key technologies/apps etc
- Working knowledge of Windows OS
- A sense of humour.
as for qualities on a personal level?
- Good, clear verbal communications skills are a must (no mumblers please)

Well, we produce both on and offline projects, and as our work demonstrates, we are involved in a wide range of sectors with clients across the UK. The work will require the successful individual to expand and develop our online portfolio and online services, including management of hosting and site updates as well as exciting new builds and expansions not to mention email marketing campaign builds.

Graphic/Web Designer
We are also (urgently) looking for a talented graphic designer with studio experience, and strong evidence, of excellent design for print, logo and website work. The position is full time and will require the successful applicant to work on new and existing client projects, you will need to be capable of communicating ideas, and turning those ideas into effective realities, and by that we mean finished press-ready artwork and well prepared PSDs that will work wonders for our clients and prove a doddle to convert into clean XHTML and CSS.
What essentials are we looking for?
- A minimum of 4 years studio experience
- A quality portfolio containing logo, print and web work
- Proficient in all major software packages including Photoshop, Illustrator and QuarkXpress (Indesign if you have to)
- Good communications skills are a must
- A ‘can do, will do’ attitude is very important
and the ‘desirables’?
- Experience in packaging design
- Knowledge of social media and key technologies/apps etc
- An understanding of SEO and why it is important
- Working knowledge of XHTML and CSS would be a major advantage
- A sunny disposition.
